Clinical Experience: Throughout my clinical training, I have provided therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families of various cultural backgrounds in multiple settings, including schools, community mental health clinics, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private practice. My clinical and diagnostic experiences have given me a strong foundation in working with developmental disabilities, mood and anxiety-related issues, concerns with social-emotional functioning, social skills, and behavioral challenges. My clinical interests include providing trauma-informed care, and parenting skills and psychoeducation to enhance the relationships within the family system.
Therapeutic Approach: I value creating a safe and empathic space to foster a caring therapeutic alliance where clients feel seen, heard, and comfortable enough to bring their whole selves. I encourage a collaborative and interactive process to aid in deeper insight to support clients on their journey. Utilizing an integrative approach, I combine relational and cognitive behavioral approaches, developmental, attachment theory, and family systems frameworks to meet the individual needs of my clients. When working with children and adolescents, I believe it is important to assess their presenting problems with the larger system that heavily influences their behavioral, adaptive, and emotional functioning. Often, I utilize play therapy when working with children. Play is a valuable medium when communicating with children to help them process their thoughts and feelings. It is a great tool to teach and guide children in building their emotional regulation and social skills.
