Psychological Associate

Lilybeth Valencia, Psy.D.

Background
I completed my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles. During my clinical training, I worked with a diverse set of individuals across the lifespan offering services in both English and Spanish. My clinical training and experience began with conducting psychological assessments for children and adolescents at The Guidance Center in Long Beach. I later moved on to providing support through psychotherapy with adults at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House and the University of La Verne Counseling and Psychological Services. I then completed a predoctoral internship at the Rochester Institute of Technology Priority Behavioral Health Clinic in Rochester, New York where I conducted both psychological assessments and therapy for individuals across the lifespan.

Therapeutic Approach
I approach my clients using a humanistic and integrated approach. When working with adolescents (16+) and adult clients at Crossroads, my goal is to establish trust, strong communication, and build healthy relationship skills to process individual experiences. Building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients utilizing empathy and genuineness is essential. I specialize in working with individuals who are facing challenges due to anxiety, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, grief, depression, and attention difficulties. I offer client-led therapy from a lens of growth, and increased self-awareness. Through providing a safe environment I aim to foster self-discovery and reflection.
