Psychiatrist

Jordan Blea, Ph.D.

Background: I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada, California. Throughout my time in graduate school, I trained in a variety of settings across LA, Orange, and Riverside counties. I have worked in the public school system, at a community health clinic, a private practice, and at several university counseling centers. I completed my APA Accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of California-Riverside, where I worked with a diverse group of students, from first year Freshman all the way up to medical and doctoral students. I also have experience with psychological assessment and teaching undergraduate psychology courses.

Therapeutic Approach: Many people seek out therapy when they may be feeling stuck, frustrated, or unhappy with one or more areas of their life. I work from a relational and collaborative approach to help my clients identify what may be keeping them feeling stuck. I focus specifically on helping my clients understand how their patterns of emotions and relating to others can impact their overall mood and perspective on life. I believe that exploring these patterns within the empathic and safe therapeutic space can lead to a deeper understanding of oneself and give clients the empowerment to move forward and make choices in life that are more authentic and satisfying. It is my hope that throughout therapy, my clients grow more comfortable in their own skin, develop a greater capacity to be with their emotions, and are more hopeful in how they approach relationships and work. Some of my primary clinical interests are anxiety, depression, complex trauma, relational issues, and career/school issues. However, I enjoy working with any client who approaches therapy with curiosity and a desire to grow.
