Something in your life isn’t the way you’d like it to be, and you want to make a change. You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or the ongoing pain of a traumatic experience. Perhaps you’re looking for support as you navigate a major transition. Maybe you’re here because you’d like to know yourself more fully. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, making it this far is an act of hope. It is an honor to meet you here.
I work with adults, young people, and couples struggling to make sense of what they are experiencing in their inner and outer worlds. My approach to therapy combines contemporary psychoanalytic approaches and psychodynamic theory with a focus on the importance of the present moment. We will work together to explore your inner conflicts, increase your ability to tolerate difficult emotions, and find renewed meaning in your relationships and experiences.
I approach this work with warmth and curiosity and believe that therapy needs playfulness and creativity to reach its full healing potential. I will tailor my approach to your specific style and needs, accompanying you as we lean into an exploration of the unknown. Together, we will build a collaborative relationship that will generate new understanding and help you feel more deeply rooted wherever you stand.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. For the last two years, I worked as a trainee psychotherapist at the Valley Community Counseling Clinic in North Hollywood, where I provided psychoanalytically-informed therapy to a diverse group of adults, couples, and young people. I am currently an Associate pursuing a dual licensure of Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor. Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a television writer and performer for almost ten years. My time in the entertainment industry made me especially interested in working with writers, directors, musicians, actors, and other artists interested in developing their creative lives.
Psychotherapy cannot solve all of life’s problems. Despite our best efforts, we will all suffer setbacks and experience loss. People we love will disappoint us, we will say and do things we wish we had not, and the world will deliver disaster to our doorsteps. Therapy cannot insulate you from those challenges, but it can make you more resilient when they arise. Therapy can add meaning to difficult moments. It can give you the freedom to make new choices and end painful patterns. Together, we will work towards creating meaningful, lasting change in your life.
