Licensed Psychologist

Dianna Marisol González, Ph.D.

Therapeutic Approach: When working with clients, my goal is to understand what internal and/or external barriers interfere with their personal growth and quality of life. I am interested in learning about the client’s environment, relationships, strengths, and culture, in an effort to help clients understand potential factors associated with barriers experienced. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients, as it helps to facilitate a path of awareness, learning, and healing and capitalizes on the strengths of clients. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults and provide counseling services in Spanish and English.

Background: I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the APA-Accredited Counseling Psychology program at New Mexico State University and my Ed.M/M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University. I completed my Predoctoral Clinical Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship from UC Irvine Counseling Center. I have worked with adolescents and adults at a variety of settings that include, an acute in-patient psychiatric hospital, college counseling centers, community organizations, and mental health agencies. I have the ability to work with a wide spectrum of client concerns that range from normal developmental concerns to several psychological disorders and psychosocial stressors.
