Psychiatrist

Leila Hariri, M.D.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist currently finalizing my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UC Irvine. My educational background includes a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA, medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago, and residency training at Kaiser Permanente in San Bernardino County.

In my practice, I have a strong interest in working with transition-age youth and treating conditions ranging from anxiety and mood disorders to trauma, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders. I view mental health care through a holistic lens; I am a strong believer in psychotherapy and strive to work closely with my patients’ therapists to optimize care. I also incorporate elements of CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapies into my own sessions, including medication management visits.

My goal is to balance this therapeutic approach with medical expertise. I educate patients and families on the role of medication when necessary, ensuring that mental health is treated with the same caution, validity, and urgency as physical health.
