Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I received my bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from Portland State University. I received my medical degree (M.D.) at Oregon Health & Science University, where I then completed my adult psychiatry residency. I am currently completing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UCLA. As a Latina and Native American physician, I am passionate about mobilizing communities to examine pervasive structural inequities. My clinical interests include depression, anxiety, cultural psychiatry, trauma, working with underserved communities, and navigating complex systems of care. I believe in the importance of an integrated treatment approach that incorporates psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and the use of medications when indicated.
