Crossroads: Los Angeles, Torrance, and Los Alamitos Psychologists

Stella Chow, Psy.D. Licensed Psychologist

Therapeutic Approach: I believe therapy is successful when you feel more comfortable with yourself and others. This is achieved through overcoming obstacles in life, working through emotions, perceiving and understanding yourself and relationships in a more holistic and congruent way. I help my clients see things in different perspectives, organize their thoughts and experiences, learn new tools to cope with life’s challenges, find themes that helps shed light to their struggles and form deeper relationships with themselves and others. This can be achieved within a trusting and collaborative relationship between you and me.

My therapy approach is influenced by psychodynamic theories and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT). I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I also provide mindfulness groups (MBCT and Mindfulness Based Stress Management) that help client learn and practice mindfulness as a path to find inner calmness and insights.

I am fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese and enjoy providing therapy in these languages.

I specialize in:

  • Mood disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Adapting to transitions in life
  • Relationship concerns
  • Stress management
  • Intercultural adjustment
  • Chronic Illness
  • Loss and Grief
